Feedback

"Carmel, Just wanted to say thanks for doing a terrific job at our Corporate Reception. The Feedback has been tremendous. Words of praise were received from the Minister and all Attendants that I met were full of compliments. We look forward to your return for 'Anuga' 2001"(Donal O'Keefe - Director of Irish Food Board Germany Oct.99)

"Carmel, Everyone is still talking about the music that you and your friends provided for our wedding ceremony on Sept 30th last. Your choice of material was uplifting and created a wonderful atmosphere in the church for our special day". -------' (Grainne and Michael Cunningham Nov'00)

"Carmel, I would like to say a big thank you to you and your band for travelling all the way out here to entertain my 400 guests for the last St.Patrick's Day celebrations of the Millennium. You truly represented Ireland at its best and the memory of that magical evening will be with me for a long time" (John O'Leary, American Ambassador, April '99)

"I would like to pay tribute to that wonderful lady, Carmel Dempsey, who entertained us on that magical cruise down the River Corrib in Galway. In fact she was such a big hit with our guests that afternoon she was invited by popular demand to sing again back at the hotel later that evening. --- No doubt one of the highlights of our trip to the West of Ireland." (Mr. Peter Lang Coca Cola co., Essen, Germany Jan' 00)

Some Kind words from the Celebs

Lisa Hesser- Television Producer - Los Angeles " It was such a treat to meet you and be entertained by your talent while we were in Ireland. I tell you, what a send-off you arranged! The crew was talking the whole trip back to L.A. about the gig you had for us in the pub the last evening we were at St Cleran's. We are eagerly planning our next trip to Ireland and hope to see you then. Thanks again, Lisa"

Brendan Flynn- Director of Clifden Arts Festival and member of the National Arts Council of Ireland "Carmel Dempsey has been involved with the Arts Festival since 1985. A dynamic performer, a brilliant teacher who succeeds in getting everyone involved in her performance. Her enthusiasm and good humour just brings everyone together in a happy celebration. Hearing the students sing with Carmel is what the joys of music are all about. Not to be missed"

Tom Costello, from Costello's pub Skehana, Ireland "...The high-light of the Xmas period in Skehana is when Carmel comes to our pub and brings cheer to old and young alike. She has a way of getting through to people with her music and that surely is a real gift."

What the Critics say:

'.............Now here is a talent we'll be hearing much more of before very long. Carmel is a wizard on the keyboards and must go far in the folk/blues world given the right chances. Her personality, poise, musical and singing talent would predict a big future for her........Once she warmed to her task she had the audience eating out of her hand..................... The Irish News- march '94 (Peadar O'Ruairc)

· '...Irish singer and pianist with an 'overwhelming voice....'
'... The audience surrendered to the mixture of singing, charisma and stage show...' German Newspapers: (Rheinishe Post March '95'. Westdeutsche Zeitung March '97)

Article: An American wedding in Ireland by Larry Booker

An extract from above:

........And Cloghan Castle made the entire excursion a fairy tale. Stone walls, battlements, the aroma of candles and a turf fire, thick oak doors, arrow slits, winding stone steps to an imposing tower: all conjured up an enchanting atmosphere of a Medieval banquet.

Carmel Dempsey's band provided splendid music throughout the evening and their back-up music to local 'Riverdancers' was incomparable. . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . The joy of being at our son's wedding reception in a real castle with all the heady images and spirits combined with Carmel's wonderful music and the aroma of a turf fire bewitched us for a delightful weekend and whisked us away from our crass technological world. . . ..................

.....................And I know I will come back again.
